Netflix's recently released Extraction starring Chris Hemsworth.
In the movie a mercenary Tyler Rake ( Chris Hemsworth) takes up a dangerous mission to rescue Ovi Mahajan ( Rudraksh Jaiswal), son of Indian drug lord based in Mumbai, from the Bangladeshi drug lord Amir Asif, based in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
But the situation gets wrong as Saju (Randeep Hooda), the man who hired Tyler tried playing Tyler's team by killing most members and leaving Tyler in a vulnerable condition. Though Saju was not able to get grasp of Ovi.
After that practically the whole army, police force of Dhaka and Amir's to very own army was after Tyler to get the boy. Tyler's friend Nik (Golshifteh Farahani) tries to persuade Tyler to leave the boy and escape as the mission was practically to ruins as Saju needs Ovi but reluctant to pay them. However, haunted by memories of his dead son, Tyler chooses to help Ovi escape too.
He asked Nik to contact with Gaspar (David Harbour) to help them out of the situation, though Nik was reluctant as she thought it was really a very bad idea. Things took an ugly turn after Gaspar took them to one of his places as he called Amir to get the boy and in return let Tyler leave and give money to both of them. Gaspar tried to persuade Tyler to kill Ovi, as he thought it will be the easiest death for the boy. Tyler and Gaspar had a fight where, Gaspar practically rekt Tyler, Ovi saw the hold thing and then pointed at Gaspar with a gun, and shot Gaspar when he tried to come towards him.
Tyler, then decides to partner with Saju to help Ovi return home.
Tyler planned to make himself a diversion while Saju would carry Ovi to the opposite side of the bridge, leading them to practically fight the whole army and the police force.
Saju after taking on a number of officers got killed by a sniper, and even though Tyler's team arrived for backup, Tyler got shot by the same sniper before Nik killed him.
Tyler though survived the sniper and shot a few more people to give Ovi time to get to the chopper. Just when it looked Tyler somehow survived, he was shot in the neck by Farhad(Suraj Rikame) who spent the whole movie trying to prove himself to Amir. Tyler then fall off the bridge.
Cutting to eight months after the event. Ovi is back to the normal life. Nik tracked down Amir and killed him in a toilet, either a revenge for death of Tyler or to protect Ovi.
In the last scene Ovi is seen holding breath under the pool and when he surfaces, he spots someone watching him by the pool. The figure though was blurred but looked like Tyler. So did he survive? Though it is highly unlikely that he could. Another guess can be that, Ovi is imagining Tyler to be there like Tyler imagined his six year old son, who died of lymphoma the whole movie.
