CS:GO Breaks its all-time Peak Player Count, AGAIN!

Once again, Counter Strike: Global Offensive has topped the steam charts, smashing their all-time peak player record for third time this year.
2020 is proving to be a very promising year for the first person shooter as it keeps breaking it's own record for concurrent player count.
On 29th February, 2020 the game saw a whooping 916,996 concurrent player count for the first time since the game was released back in 2012. It's previous record, which was just over 900,000 was set during the second week of February.

One of the key factors which impacted the CS:GO player growth is definitely the Operation Shattered Web. After two years without an operation, Valve announced this operation out of nowhere and caught the community by surprise. The operation recieved huge positive feedback from the players as it introduced a ton of new stuff like the 'Agents' and 4 new sets of knives. Besides, the operation encouraged the players to keep playing the game while completing missions to unlock exclusive items for the game, making the game much more engaging accounting for a huge increase in the player count.

The competitive scene in CS:GO is also shining and it is undoubtedly one of the most enjoyable esports to watch. The IEM Katowice 2020, which is currently going on and being streamed live at twitch, is rocking a 550,000 viewer count.

Global Offensive keeps proving its superiority as a first person shooter among the other huge titles in steam and keeps its head up high at the top of the charts. What do you think, has impacted the playerbase the most? Let us know in the comments.
