Unraveling The Mystery: Big Bang Theory Season 13?

The whole universe is talking about it, and chances are if you're a fervent fan of the show you've heard it too. But how much of it is true? We tried to unravel the mystery about the news of the much anticipated season 13 of The Big Bang Theory, which is arguably considered as the best sitcom of all time.

The Big Bang Theory started airing on CBS in 2007 and made a long run of 12 years before finally coming to an end in May 2019, making it one of the longest running sitcoms of all time. It has multiple awards to its name and received an overwhelmingly positive response from its audience.

Many consider the ending of The Big Bang Theory to be the best ending a sitcom can possibly have, but the fans still wanted more. No one could accept that the show which has been running for so long has come to an end, and as expected speculations began to arise.

The producers confirmed that the show was in fact, supposed to have a season 13 and even a season 14. So what went wrong? Why did it have to end it in season 12? The answer to this lies in one of the cast members himself.

Jim Parsons, the actor who played Sheldon Cooper admitted that he didn't want to continue anymore. It is rumoured that he turned down offers as high as 50 million dollars for another two seasons. It's unclear why he took that decision, one possibility would be that he believed that the show had achieved its peak and would go downhill from there. The writers decided that it'd be pointless to continue the show without the beloved Sheldon Cooper and decided to end the show.

So how are all the speculations taking place? Well, the root of all the speculations lie in two facts. Firstly, Raj's story arc is still unfinished. Even though every other member of the group has received a sweet and happy ending, Raj's story just feels incomplete, did the writers forget about him? Or his was his unfinished story a direct hint at another season? We might know in the future. Secondly, Kaley Cuoco, the actress who played Penny admitted in the Golden Globes that she'd love to be a part of the reboot of the show. “I don’t wanna leave either,” Cuoco mentioned. “Everyone’s saying the same thing. It’s so sweet… 12 years…. I don’t wanna leave. I don’t wanna leave. I said it. I don’t wanna leave!”. Kaley's words were filled with emotion and hinted to the fact that a reboot might just be a possibility.

Unfortunately, CBS themselves have denied any possibility of a season 13 of the show. So it isn't very likely we're seeing a reboot in the near future. However, since the other cast members are all ready for a reboot, in the future if Jim changes his mind, we might just see it happening again!

We all love this show, and all we can do right now is hope for the best. Meanwhile, the reruns are the only thing that can fill the void in our hearts that this show has left us. Do you think that a season 13 is gonna happen soon? Let us know in the comments!
