Half Life: Alyx Released - First Impressions and System Requirements.

Valve makes a grand return to the Half-Life series with Alyx, a Virtual Reality first person shooter game.

After the long pause since the release of Half-Life 2, Valve returns with another version of the critically acclaimed series. The game is set five years before the events of Half-Life 2. The player takes up the character of Alyx Vance as she and her father Eli fight the occupying alien Combine.

Half-Life: Alynx was developed in the Source 2 engine and is described by Valve as their "flagship" VR game. It supports all PC compatible VR headsets and rocks with its stunning graphics and astonishingly gripping attention to details. The interactions with the virtual world in the game are also noteworthy, where every small interaction the player makes with the environment is filled with minute details which can't go overlooked, not to mention the gameplay in itself is very engaging.

The game has a pocket pinch of 60$ but is free for Index owners. It is available for purchase in steam and is flowing with overwhelmingly positive responses as I write. The game is definitely worth every penny of it and certainly the best in the series, as Dan Stapleton, IGN's executive editor of reviews tweeted, "If you're keeping track, Half-Life: Alyx is the first 10 I've given in 7 years at IGN. Feels pretty good."

This third Half-Life title was widely anticipated by fans and critiques alike, and that is showing from its viewership on Twitch. At the time of writing, the game is on the top of the twitch charts with a whopping 275k viewers watching streamers play the game live.

The game does require a pretty hefty PC build to play. The minimum system requirements for the game, as mentioned by steam are:
    • OS: Windows 10
    • Processor: Core i5-7500 / Ryzen 5 1600
    • Memory: 12 GB RAM
    • Graphics: GTX 1060 / RX 580 - 6GB VRAM

If you have a system that can run the game, a functioning VR headset and the money to buy it, there's no room for dilemmas. This game is certainly a one-of-a-kind experience and we strongly recommend that you try it and in case you don't like it which is highly unlikely, you can always opt for a refund.
