13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher TV Series Review

13 reasons why,a novel by Jay Asher (Now as an official Netflix series)

This story will always hit hard in terms of teenage years in highschool of how much of utterly unpredictable ,hard or toxic people can make your life easier to much worse in case you let yourself get along with the rest of the lead
Season 1:
The mysterious drama of 13 Reasons Why presents a highly compelling and tragic story of the late Hannah Baker, who commits suicide due to a series of wrongdoings and betrayals.  What sorts of betrayals pushed Hannah to this dangerous point? You will find out as each episode is a narrative of a person who has impacted Hannah in some way when Hannah releases a box of tapes with deliberate sets of instructions that mandate tape recipients to listen to them and pass it along to whoever the next recipient is.
The show adopts the tragic storyline via the perspective of Clay Jensen, a high school social nerd who was a close friend of Hannah’s. The whole journey is set through Clay listening to the tapes although the audience might begin to wonder who are the people that Hannah deemed responsible for her circumstances.

The first tape was dedicated to a student named Justin Foley, a high school jock who took a racy picture of Hannah Baker, opening up to the harassment that Hannah…
will continue to face. The narrative then weaves through Jessica and Alex who each broke their friendship with Hannah by keeping their dating life a secret. Alex and Jessica presented a series of betrayals against Hannah, and ultimately Alex made an objectifying list that appropriated Hannah and Jessica as sexual objects. The show’s narrative is good at presenting how sexual objectification of a person can be problematic and how it often marginalizes women.
As a result of Alex’s mishap, Hannah continues to face more harassment from a student named Marcus who gropes Hannah or at least attempts to do so in front of the public. As Hannah is left frozen in fear, the audience cannot help but feel sympathy for Hannah as it echoes the type of harassment that some women face in the real world.
Along comes Zach who actually starts off as a sweet boy but actually was rejected by Hannah at first. This show is good at articulating how people rarely think about what other people were going…
through. Zach, being broken hearted, decides to steal Hannah’s compliments, which tarnish her self esteem.
As Clay listens to the tapes he becomes emboldened in bringing justice to Hannah by confronting the people who wronged her. As the story continues with Clay listening to the tapes, the story gets thicker, especially leading to another tape dedicated to Justin Foley.
In Justin’s second tape we hear the tragic story of how Jessica Davis was sexually assaulted at a party Jessica hosted. Hannah knows who did this but she makes Clay and the audience wait to find out on who assaulted her. The show takes a morbid tone when dealing with sexual assault and it highlights the severe problem of sexual assault.
As Clay learns about what happened to Jessica he becomes more anxious to learn what he did. But as he listens to his own tape, he reflects the turmoil and guilt over leaving Hannah when Hannah yells at him to leave after they share a kiss. The audience cannot help but wonder if things would have gone differently had Clay been more assertive.
As the story goes on, viewers are confronted with the tragedy that Hannah encounters. Bryce, a charismatic psychopath, is not used to taking no for an answer as he sexually assaults Hannah at one of his own parties. This incident can be considered to be a breaking point for Hannah as it pushes her into despair. Meanwhile Clay takes the risk of going to see Bryce and extract a confession of his sexual assault. As Hannah slips into a state of despair she reaches out to a high school counselor for help, only to be told to passively handle her situation.
After seeing Hannah lose all hope and experience a tragic death, the viewers ask themselves: what could have gone differently? Will the Bakers try to gain justice for their daughter?
Well the next   seasons 2 is inscribed upon the trail run by the Baker's family and how Bryce Walker get away with everything with 3 months probation ,
And number 3 revolves around the mysterious death of Bryce and how everything is revealing nothing much more  of a labyrinth..
